
Ana Maria Costea is an Associate Professor at the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA), Department of International Relations and European Integration. She holds a PhD in International Relations and European Studies from Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca and SNSPA.
Her academic and managerial activities include serving as Editor-in-Chief of Europolity, SNSPA’s main academic journal, and as Erasmus+ Departmental Coordinator for the KA131 and KA171 programmes. Her research activities include serving as research manager of the project „Noi riscuri de securitate la nivel internațional”.
Dr. Costea has published numerous BDI- and ISI-indexed academic articles focusing on European affairs, cyber and energy security, NATO, the EU, Eastern Europe, and foreign policy strategies.
She is also the author of the book “East versus West: When Politics Collide with Economics” (2015) and editor or co-editor of several collective volumes, including „25 de ani de la căderea comunismului” (2015) and „Guvernanță și europenizare ca cadru pentru înțelegerea societății europene” (2015).
In 2018, she coordinated the publication „Structuri de interconectivitate în vecinătatea UE: principalii factori care au modelat implementarea manualului PEV-A”. In 2024, she co-authored Noua Europă, Vol.3: Ghidul aprofundat al Uniunii Europene, Polirom, together with Iordan Gh. Bărbulescu, Ioana Dodi, Mihail Caradaică, and Bogdan Munteanu.
