Mr. Călin Radu Ancuța Calin has a career as a diplomat with over thirty years of experience, holding the diplomatic rank of Minister Plenipotentiary since 2018.
Mr. Ancuța has held senior leadership positions—including Agency President, State Secretary, Director-General in the Central Administration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA)—and has served at the Consulate General in New York, the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, and the Embassies of Romania in Finland, Estonia, and Slovakia, including as Chargé d’Affaires and Acting Head of Mission.
His professional activity has encompassed bilateral relations, multilateral diplomacy, European and Euro-Atlantic affairs, and strategic export control. He speaks four languages fluently and has received professional training in both Europe and the United States. Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to representing Romania with professionalism, integrity, and steadfast commitment to international relations.
He holds degrees in History and Political Science from the University of Bucharest, the University of Vienna, and the Free University of Berlin. He completed doctoral studies at the University of Bucharest and the Free University of Berlin, earning a PhD in the History of International Relations (2001).
