Ileana Racheru is a Senior Expert at the Romanian Diplomatic Institute (IDR) since 2013, specialising in the post-Soviet space. She earned her PhD in Political Science from the University of Bucharest (2014), where she also completed her undergraduate and master’s studies in Political Science and International Relations. Before joining IDR, she worked as a foreign affairs journalist for Revista 22 and as a political consultant.
She is the author of numerous analytical papers, research studies, and fieldwork reports on political and security developments in the post-Soviet area. Most of her studies are based on interviews and study visits conducted in the Republic of Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the Russian Federation.
