Professor Radu Carp teaches at the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Bucharest. He holds an honorary degree from “Petre Andrei” University of Iași. He also coordinates the University of Bucharest team within the European scientific network Observatory on Local Autonomy, coordinated by the University of Lille (since 2015), and represents the same university in the European Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Democratisation (E.MA), part of the Global Campus of Human Rights, Venice. He serves on the E.MA Academic Curriculum Group (since 2021).

He is a member of the Jean Monnet Chair project European Union for Peace, Prosperity and Security (EU-PPS, 2024–) coordinated by the National Caucasus University, Tbilisi, Georgia, and of the research project New Security Challenges in the Black Sea Region due to the Russian Aggression in Ukraine (University of Bucharest / Fridtjof Nansen Institute, Norway, 2024–). Professor Carp has been a visiting or associate professor in several universities across Europe, the USA, Argentina, and Taiwan. He is the author or co-author of 25 books. His latest works include “Punctul de cotitură. Ruptură, continuitate și transformarea democrațiilor (2024) and Alegerile europene din România 2024. Clivaje, coaliții, consecințe” (with Cristina Matiuța, 2024). His articles and book chapters have been published in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Moldova, Serbia, the Netherlands, the USA, Ukraine, and Hungary.
